A joint meeting between the Ministry of Interior’s Child Protection Center and the Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC) has discussed ways of enhancing common initiatives and awareness programs as part of the MoU they have signed on protecting children in schools against all forms of abuse.
Representatives from the child Protection centre, ADEC and the Social Support Department have discussed promoting efforts and activating the initiative which aims to prepare the appropriate procedures ensuring children protection.
The Child Protection Center has implemented a number of initiatives all focused on cooperation with relevant stakeholders in a bid to explain the efforts being made in the field of child protection. The hotline child protection was one of these initiatives.
A total of 365 social workers in government and private schools have been trained by the Centre on ways to identify cases of child abuse. Additionally, the Center has also organised a course on “identifying cases of child abuse and ways of responding to them”, in collaboration with ADEC and the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company ( Seha).
As many as 360 school health nurses from Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and the Western Region have been trained on cases of child violence and ways of reporting them.
