MoI Child Protection Centre Delegation Visits Sharjah Social Services Department and Dubai Foundation for Women and Children Care

A delegation from the Ministry of Interior’s Child Protection Centre recently made introductory visits to the Sharjah Social Services Department and the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children Care (DFWAC). The visits embody the Center’s keenness to enhance partnerships with governmental departments and institutions and acquaint them with the services, programs, activities, field experiences and achievements made by the Center in the field of child protection.

Afaf Al Marri, Director of the Sharjah Social Services Department, welcomed the visiting delegation headed by Major Dr. Mohammed Khalifa Al Ali, Director of the Ministry of Interior’s Child Protection Centre. Both parties discussed means to enhance cooperation in different fields, exchange expertise, introduce the 116111 hotline for child protection and the e-reporting via the Ministry of Interior’s Child Protection Center’s website. They also discussed the importance of building strategic partnerships between both parties, and reinforce joint efforts to protect children from risks; in line with the keenness to increase society’s trust and encourage reporting of child abuse cases.

Afra Al Basti, Executive Director of Dubai Foundation for Women and Children, also acquainted the delegation with the Foundation’s tasks and duties. During the meeting, both parties examined ways to strengthen cooperation between them and the objectives of the hotline that was recently inaugurated by the Ministry of Interior’s Child Protection Centre. The delegation members then toured the Foundation, where they were introduced to the foundation’s different services.

The delegation of the Ministry of Interior’s Child Protection Centre included Captain Ahmed Ateeq Al Afrit, First Lieutenant Ibrahim Hassan Al Bloushi, First Lieutenant Mariam Matbouna, First Lieutenant Wafa Al Awar; Main Administrative Mariam Al Ulayn, and Expert Sanjana Bhardwaj .
