Represented by the Ministry of Interior's Child Protection Center, and in the presence of Maj. Gen. Salem Al Shamsi, Assistant Undersecretary for Resources and Support Services, the Ministry of Interior organized a number of interactive awareness activities and events, as part of the International Children's Day, in Khalifa Park in the country's capital, Abu Dhabi.

Maj. Gen. Salem Al Shamsi stated that the Ministry of Interior is keen to enhance community protection and provide the highest standards of safety and prevention for all members of society. He stressed that the safety and protection of children is a top priority for the concerned authorities as they strive to provide them with the highest levels of protection and to ensure a safe and healthy environment for their upbringing, development of their skills and capabilities to contribute to shaping a bright future for our cherished homeland.

Activities included the UAE Child Parliament, with the participation of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, a dialogue among children, as well as the Safety Ambassadors session from the Dubai Police General HQs. The event featured a special honoring by the Ministry of Interior for the children of martyrs, and an interactive participation through educational contests and several other activities.
