THE MINISTRY OF INTERIOR CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN’S DAY WITH VARIOUS ACTIVITIES

The Ministry of Interior, represented by the Ministry’s Center for Child Protection, celebrated World Children’s Day by organizing various activities and signing memorandums of understanding with national institutions to enhance child protection and within efforts to provide a safe environment for children to have a healthy upbringing.
The ceremony was attended by Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, who stressed in a speech at the ceremony that the countries of the world celebrate today, on the twentieth of November of every year, International Children’s Day to enhance international interdependence, improve the quality of life, and provide a safe environment for them to enjoy a healthy and peaceful upbringing.
He said that we are working with all partners to develop and adopt pioneering initiatives that enhance efforts to protect children. We also affirm our commitment and continuous work with all international institutions and bodies in order to enhance this protection in general and in particular in the areas of enhancing the dignity of children through the digital world and protecting them from all forms of exploitation and extortion.
The ceremony, which began with the playing of the national anthem of the United Arab Emirates, presented by the child Ghaya Al Ahbabi, included poetry recitals and poems by the child poet Sultan Al Shamsi, on the occasion, and a presentation from the Emirati Children’s Parliament by the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and a number of competitions and educational and entertainment activities. Honors were also given. Partners of the Ministry of Interior and a number of Emirati families
The National Ambulance, affiliated with the National Guard, also participated in providing educational awareness activities on first aid for children, with the aim of spreading and consolidating the culture of ambulance among children and young people. The 999 magazine issued by the Ministry of Interior also participated in activities at the ceremony, including a theatrical performance for children that enhances the awareness aspect of security and safety issues.
The ceremony was attended by His Excellency Abdullah Abdul Ali Al-Humaidan, Secretary-General of the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, and a number of officials and officers of the Ministry of Interior.
On the sidelines of the Ministry of Interior’s ceremony on World Children’s Day, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Ministry of Interior and the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination related to enhancing bilateral cooperation in the areas of child protection and proper dealing with them.
